Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) will once again host its Moonlight Memory Walk back at the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

The well-known Cornish garden will see the return of the event for a third year, on Saturday, November 9.

Focused on remembering and celebrating lives of loved ones, the Moonlight Memory Walk includes a ceremony followed by a 4km walk around the illuminated pathways of Heligan.

Throughout the walk, participants will have designated points to pause, reflect and partake in activities that pay tribute to those being commemorated.

Kiley Pearce, events fundraiser for CHSW, said: "We feel very fortunate to once again have the opportunity to hold our Moonlight Memory Walk at Heligan this year, which last year seen all 400 spaces sell out 1 month in advance."

She emphasised the emotional significance of the event for those who participate, welcoming participants from across Cornwall to remember their loved ones.

Walkers are expected to fundraise £50 in sponsorship, with the proceeds earmarked to assist children and young people in Cornwall through the services provided by Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.

The previous year's walk raised a remarkable £38,583.

Among those who will be attending and addressing the gathering this year are Mike and Nicki Brown, parents of the late Oliver Brown.

Speaking about Little Harbour's invaluable support during their difficult time, Mr Brown said: "At a time when you don’t know where to look or where to turn or how on earth you are going to get through this horrendous time in your life, they’re there, they hold your hand, they wrap their arms around you and they just take you through it."
